FAQ
What’s the difference between graphic design and illustration?
Graphic Design is about communicating a message. Think logos, ads, or branded materials.
Illustration is about creating original artwork that tells a story, sparks emotion, or brings an idea to life.
The big difference is the goal: graphic design focuses on problem-solving and communication, while illustration leans into creativity, expression, and narrative. The space where they overlap is called illustrative design.
Most of my projects exist in that overlap. As a one-woman operation, I have my hands on every step of the process from start to finish. I draw every element by hand, curate fonts or create custom lettering, and arrange everything into one cohesive composition.
How do I book your design services?
I’m so excited to hear more about your project! To get started, fill out my project inquiry form so I have more information about your goals. After that, I’ll reach out to book our first meeting. If you’re local to Bozeman, we can meet in person, and virtual meetings are always available.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! All projects are locked-in with a 50% deposit up-front, with the remaining balance due by the end of the project deadline. We’ll come up with your specific payment schedule when we discuss the project timeline and contract details.
How do we stay in touch during the project?
The majority of our communication will happen via email, unless otherwise discussed. I’ll never ask you to download a new app or software in order to keep up with your project. All invoices, contracts, and meeting invites will be sent via email. Phone calls and video chats are always available based on your preference.
How long do your projects take to complete?
Project timelines vary depending on the type of project, averaging 4-6 weeks.
Do you offer copywriting services?
I work directly with copywriters for projects that require them, like web design projects. I act as the creative director, meaning you won’t have any extra meetings. You and I will discuss your goals, and I pass that off to my copywriters. We’ll work in-tandem to bring your project to life efficiently and cohesively.
Do you offer logo or brand design?
No, I don’t offer logo or brand design. I love to take existing brand suites and add to them with custom illustrations or use them to create stunning websites! While I don’t offer branding at this time, I have a network of designers I’d be happy to refer you to.
What is print and digital collateral?
Collateral is everything you’ll be sent at the end of the project. Sometimes this is all digital files to use on websites or social media, and sometimes it includes printed materials like flyers, business cards, or merchandise.
Ordering and logistics for print collateral are included in your project. I find reliable manufacturers, place orders, and ensure everything arrives on time. My goal is to make sure your products meet the highest standards without you having to worry about managing logistics.
What happens after we launch?
We celebrate, of course! And take a breath — you can sit back and relax because you just launched your custom project!
Some projects require ongoing support, and I’m happy to discuss options with you. Site maintenance, updates, and new design collateral are all available as ongoing support. You can book me on-retainer or for one-off projects here and there. Read more about my design retainers here.
